The SHMCT department conducted a seminar on “Role of IT in Travel and Tourism Industry” on 6-01-2024 by Mr. Mayank Gupta, CEO & Co-Founder at JVA TEC Pvt. Ltd. And Mr. Puneet Saxena , Vice President - Education, Tourism India Alliance for faculty members and students. He said that Information Technology (IT) plays a vital role in today’s personal, commercial, and not-for-profit uses. In its simplest terms, IT is the application of computers and other electronic equipment to receive, store, retrieve, transmit, and manipulate data. This data becomes information when it is put into intelligible and useful forms for communication.

The importance of IT is sometimes taken for granted because its applications are so widespread worldwide. We depend on it in our personal lives for communication, travel & tourism, banking, social media, investments, research, and so much more. Organizations cannot exist today and expect to stay competitive without adequate Information Technology systems.

About 83% of participants suggested that this kind of seminar regarding stress reducing was so effective and should be done on regular basis. The resource persons also felt that the energy level of Faculties and student were high and show interest in his activity.
