Jaipur National University Commemorates Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Jayanti with Distinguished Lecture on His Thoughts*

To mark the auspicious occasion of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Jayanti, the Dr. Ambedkar Chair in Science at Jaipur National University, functioning under the umbrella of the Dr. Ambedkar Chair Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, organized “A Distinguished Lecture on Dr. Ambedkar’s Thoughts” today at the Dr. Ambedkar Chair for Science (DACS), JNU Main Campus.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Mahendra Kumar Anand, Advisor-AJAK (Rajasthan), noted scholar of Ambedkar Philosophy and Buddhist Studies, and Trustee, Amblinking Foundation. Dr. Anand highlighted Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s multifaceted contributions as a jurist, economist, social reformer, and visionary of modern India.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, research scholars, and students of various disciplines. The program commenced with a floral tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, followed by the lecture and an interactive session where participants discussed the application of Ambedkar’s ideas in present-day research, governance, and social innovation.

The Chancellor, Pro Chancellor, Vice Chancellor and Rector of the university expressed gratitude to Babasaheb on this occasion.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the speaker’s insights and the active involvement of the academic community in celebrating the ideals of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

Dr. Ambedkar and the Indian Constitution

A two-day National Seminar on “Dr. Ambedkar and the Indian Constitution”, themed “Pathways to Social Justice, Equality, and Inclusive Development in Contemporary India,” was held on 14 & 15 November 2025. The seminar was organized by the Dr. Ambedkar Chair, Andhra University, in collaboration with IIM Visakhapatnam, with the objective of critically examining Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s constitutional vision and its relevance to present-day India. Scholars, academicians, policymakers, and social thinkers from across the country deliberated on issues of social justice, constitutional morality, equality, and inclusive growth in the contemporary socio-political context. The seminar was sponsored by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, reinforcing the national commitment to Ambedkar’s ideals and constitutional values.

Ambedkar Chair Lecture on 23 Feb, 2026

Jaipur National University, Jaipur organized an invited lecture on 23 February 2026 under the aegis of Dr Ambedkar Chair in Science (Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment). Ms. Poonam Pareek, Nutritionist and Culinary Expert has delivered a lecture on “Entrepreneurship Development Through Millets” and interacted with faculty members of JNU Jaipur. She has also emphasized on the need of balance diet/nutrition on the empowerment of deprived class populations in alignment to the epistemology of Dr Ambedkar.

Ambedkar Chair Lecture

Jaipur National University, Jaipur organized an invited lecture on 21 March 2026 under the aegis of Dr Ambedkar Chair in Science (Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment).

Prof. R C Dubey, Senior Professor (Microbiology), Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar (Uttarakhand) has delivered an online lecture on “ Promotng Awareness towards Balanced Nutrition for the Empowerment of Underpriviledged Sections of the Society”. He has also emphasized on the need of balance diet/nutrition on the empowerment of deprived class populations in removing the Nutrional inequalities amongst marginalized population as per the thoughts of Dr Ambedkar Ji.
