Students of the School of Fashion Design explored the art of handcrafted rugs at Jaipur Rugs on 11 November 2025. From spinning and dyeing to weaving and finishing, the visit offered deep insights into traditional craftsmanship, colours, textures, and global design aesthetics. A truly inspiring experience blending heritage with contemporary design. Students also interacted with artisans and observed intricate weaving techniques used in handmade carpet production. The visit helped them understand the importance of sustainable craftsmanship and the value of handmade products in the global market. They explored various design patterns, colour combinations, and material applications used in rug making. The experience enhanced their appreciation for traditional textile practices and their relevance in modern design.
