The School of Fashion Design, Jaipur National University, in collaboration with the Weavers’ Service Centre, Jaipur (a unit of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India), proudly presented “Woven Winds of Bikaner – रेत से रैंप तक” on the occasion of the 11th National Handloom Day. Held on 7th August 2025 at Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj & Gramin Vikas Sansthan, Jaipur, the event celebrated the legacy of Indian handloom through a vibrant fashion showcase.

Among six participating universities and institutes, Jaipur National University’s School of Fashion Design secured the First Prize, earning acclaim for its concept, craftsmanship, and cultural depth. The winning collection paid homage to the weavers of Bikaner, featuring handwoven fabrics reimagined into contemporary silhouettes. Each ensemble was detailed with traditional hand-stitching, cotton threads, cords, and beads, reflecting the essence of Rajasthan’s desert culture.

Graced by dignitaries including Hon’ble Mayor Smt. Kusum Yadav, Shri S.S. Shah, and Dr. Rimmi Shekhawat, the show highlighted the strength of India’s textile heritage and the promise of its future designers. It was a true celebration of tradition meeting innovation — where fashion became a walking story of India’s looms.
