Jan 31, 2026

The School of Fashion Design, Jaipur National University organized a Lippan Art Workshop titled “Shining Traditions: Hands-on Lippan Craft Workshop” on 31 January 2026. The workshop aimed to provide students with practical exposure to traditional Indian folk art and its relevance in fashion and surface design. Students from B.Sc. Fashion Design, Diploma in Fashion Design, and MBA in Fashion Design actively participated in the session. They learned about the origin and cultural significance of Lippan Art, including the materials and techniques used in creating traditional mud and mirror designs. During the hands-on session, students created their own Lippan art panels using traditional motifs, mirror work, and textured surfaces. The workshop helped students understand how folk art elements can be adapted into contemporary fashion, accessories, textiles, and interior décor. The activity enhanced students’ creativity, cultural awareness, and appreciation for traditional craft practices through experiential learning.
