National Conference on Smart Agriculture and Food Security - Innovations in Agriculture has been organized by Jaipur National University and All India Agricultural Students Association (AIASA) Rajasthan with the support of NABARD, Directorate Agriculture, Government of Rajasthan and Ministry of Agriculture & FW (Government of India) on 18-20th January, 2019 at Jaipur National University-Jaipur . The Inaugural Session was held on 18.1.2019. It was presided over by Dr.Sandeep Bakshi, Hon'ble Chancellor and Chief Guest of the Function was Dr.Raja Ram Tripathi, Chairman, Central Herbal Agro Marketing Federation of India. A Souvenir and Abstract was released on the occasion of Inaugural Session. More than 300 participants including experts from various Agricultural Universities, Veterinary Science Universities, Forestry Institutes, ICAR Institutes, Central and State Department of Agriculture, NABARD, Innovative farmers and agriculture students throughout India participated in the Conference. AIASA is a professional organization of agricultural and allied students and faculties, agriculture professionals and working on empowerment of youth in agriculture. Every year it presents national awards to individuals for empowerment of youth in agriculture. 31 national awards presented during the Inaugural Session of the Conference in various categories. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Dr. H.N.Verma was presented national award by All India Agricultural Students Association for his outstanding contribution towards quality education and skill development. Two days deliberations on six major themes were conducted at Jaipur National University on 18.1.2019 and 19.1.2019 and third day exposure visit of farm youth and experts was conducted at Organic Farm at Jharana village, Fagi, Jaipur. Two days deliberations and recommendations on above important themes were discussed to resolve the issues faced by farming community. It was deliberated during the day long discussions that adoption of innovative technologies including smart agriculture practices, conservation agriculture, protective cultivation, promotion of organic farming, production and distribution of quality planting materials, capacity building and skill development of farm youth, diversification of agriculture, opening of marketing outlets; "Kisan Kiosks and Hats" in cities, strengthening of customize service & inputs delivery centers, agri. clinics will be helpful for improvement of agriculture and enhancing income of the farmer.
