Frequently Asked Questions

An M.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering is a two-year post-graduate program that teaches students how to measure and control process variables in production. Students learn about electronics and pneumatics instrumentation, flow, level, temperature, and pressure measurements, control loops, and more. They also learn how to design, construct, and maintain instrumentation systems for industrial undertakings.

Graduates of this program can work in manufacturing, power generation, aerospace, and process industries.

Students develop skills to manage projects within cost and time constraints. They also build competencies to work as research and development personnel, quality managers, researchers, engineering technologists, and design engineers.

Instrumentation engineers design, develop, install, and maintain equipment to monitor and control machinery. They configure automated processes to improve the productivity, reliability, and safety of production.

Electronics and Instrumentation engineers have a promising future ahead of them because they are required in almost every industry in a variety of roles such as design, development, automation, monitoring, fabrication, inspection, quality control and maintenance.

Edge computing, edge sensors, wireless instrument system design and sonar flow meters, etc. are a few examples of advances in the area of instrumentation. The emergence of edge computing is expected to play a vital role in the field of instrumentation.
