Seminar on stress

The SHMCT department conducted a seminar on “Emotional & Stress Management” on 26-12-2023 by Mr. Aung Moe, Assistant Director Information system at Harvard University for faculty members and students. He said that stress can take a toll on our physical and mental well-being. The effects of stress are, well, stressful themselves. Stress can cause short- and long-term physical symptoms such as headaches, a rapid pulse, elevated blood pressure, stomach pain, an upset stomach, and even chronic pain. Stress also negatively impacts your immune system, disrupts sleep, and can leave you exhausted and depressed. It’s important to use stress management techniques like mindfulness, meditation, exercise and relaxation to reduce the effects of stress on our body. If we feel anxious or overwhelmed by stress, a therapist or healthcare provider can help.

He also conducted a session of stress reduction during the session which was so helpful to reduce the stress level at that time. The session was very interactive for 30 faculties and students. About 90% of participants suggested that this kind of seminar regarding stress reducing was so effective and should be done on regular basis. The resource persons also felt that the energy level of Faculties and student were high and show interest in his activity.
