Students visited Directorate of Mushroom Research at Solan, Himachal Pradesh. ICAR-DMR is working on collection, identification, conservation and genetic characterization of mushroom germplasm, development of high yielding varieties, improvements in the production technologies, technology developed for newer specialty mushrooms, integrated pest and disease management, post harvest technologies and imparting trainings to the trainers, entrepreneurs, growers, unemployed youths, women growers etc. They learned about the mushroom cultivation practices and strategic and applied research on collection, conservation, utilization and production of edible and medicinal mushroom.
