The Department had organized a visit to The Akshay Patra Foundation, Jagatpura, Jaipur for the students of B. Tech. Food Technology. They were accompanied by the faculty members of the Department. This visit was arranged with an aim of providing an insight of functioning of this foundation. Students have been given the information of concepts and parameters of this foundation. Students approached one of the biggest Megha kitchens of Akshay Patra Foundation. Being one of the largest in India, this kitchen can produce up to 200,000 meals in five hours. The students found the experience as an enthralling one especially its innovative technology and quality standards for providing their services to the people. The interaction between the students and the people of Akshaya Patra was very overwhelming and all interactive sessions which were motivating as well as new to them. The organization works in a very transparent manner and helped the students in gaining intellectuality. The visit was very helpful for students in learning the industrial processes of food production on large scale and how an industry works as a whole unit. Apart from learning the technicalities of an industry as would be engineers, they gained moral as well as spiritual knowledge.
