World Soil day was celebrated at Crop Cafeteria, JNU, Jaipur. The programme was successfully organized to create awareness about importance of soil health in sustaining agriculture and our lives. The main objective of the programme was to make the farmers of Rajasthan aware of the importance of healthy soil and to advocate for ecofriendly soil management. Meanwhile, soil samples were collected from over 10 villages of Jaipur area for analysis and preparation of Soil Health Cards (SHC). The details in the SHC included general information of the farmers, soil nutrient status and recommendations related to application of various nutrients to various important crops grown in this region.
