Games and sports have become an integral element of present day education. They teach them the qualities of discipline, sportsmanship, team spirit and leadership. They also enhance the physical and mental development of students and faculty members. The SHMCT department conducted sports day on 27th December 2023. The event included sports like Carrom, Chess and Cricket. The thing is that the bigger sports took place in the preceding week.
The Director of SHMCT extended a floral and formal welcome to the Guests and dignitaries and shared a brief report of the School’s Sports activities.
The faculty members also got an opportunity to prove their physical fitness by participating in cricket, chess and carom. They proved that age is no bar for running and winning on the tracks. In the end, the winners were awarded medals and certificates by Hon’ble Vice chancellor Sir, Prof. R.L. Raina. In his address to the students and faculties members laid emphasis on the need to participate. He said that it is not important to win but need to be more participative.
The zealous students, gathered in large numbers, constantly applauded the participants of the Field track displays. It is participation that makes all the difference. Director of SHMCT.
