An awareness programme on “Save the girl child” in association with Unnat Bharat Aabhiyan was conducted on February 3, 2024. The students discussed about gender inequality at home and work place. The play was focued on gender equality and to improve welfare services intended for girls in India. Prof. Rajesh Mahrotra, Director SILLAS, elaborated the concept of women empowerment and the various dimension and parameters associated with it. A rally was also organized on the theme ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ where participants spread the awareness among the local regional people in the nearby area. The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among the people about the importance of girl child and discourage female feticides. There was a huge enthusiasm among the teachers and the students for the programme. The activity concluded with a pledge of saving and educating girls for betterment of the society.
