The SHMCT conducted a Guest Lecture on the topic “Promoting sustainable tourism development” by Ms. Sabhyata, Training Manager, The Lalit Hotel (Jaipur), According to her view the hotel industry is largely dependent on the tourism sector, as it is driven by domestic and foreign tourists arriving for business or leisure trips. There are many strong benefits to be gained from committing to sustainable tourism, the three main umbrella points being: helping the creating environment, it's economic advantages for the destination, and providing support to local communities.
