Objective of the Session: To create an awareness amongst the students about the utilization of food industry waste generated during the manufacturing of various food products.

The eminent speaker discussed about the waste characterization of various food industries. He specifically included the three segments of waste; Fruits and Vegetable industry, Dairy industry, and Meat, Poultry and Fish processing industries. He presented the facts and figures of waste generated by these industries. During his talk he shared the information of the various sources of waste. To overcome the problem of food waste, he suggested the technologies which can be used specifically in the industry for waste management. He also suggested various food products which can be prepared from the food waste.
It was an informative session which provided a good deal of learning about food waste management. The students found the information useful and quite relevant to their curriculum.
