Power of Words: from Classic to Modern Culture

-DEEPIKA MITRA
How many times have we been exasperated, sometimes infuriated, and at times resigned to witness our blunderings, which have ranged from whining explanations to blustering rhetoric OF WORDS UNTOLD!
Well, this is the power of words, this is the power of rhetoric! Be it a king or a commoner, be it a poet or a philosopher, who would not like to imbibe the caricature of words untold! In the classic era, it was the poets who sang their songs with unsung words. Well, today it is you and me who carry the legacy forward. The power is immense, having the swooping words as such, words do have the apostles of mesmerizing dreams into the air as such. Castigating the words means eating up the authority of giving the right kind of narration. In the right kind of narration. Neither are they for the copywriters. Words trigger more kinds of emotional responses than persuasion.
What is the power of words? Our linguistic ability defines us in a caricature of potentialities with capacity. Now the question stands still where it was - How can we use words and their power to our advantage? The choices we make help us in setting the skill of expression to succeed wisely, personally and professionally. Meanings are interpreted, and words are defined -this is perhaps the real meaning of life. Words can have multiple meanings at a single moment. The power of words comes into play during the times when we define our reality. The words we use in our minds repeatedly to describe ourselves and our identity are some of the most powerful forces in our lives. Words are the castigating authorities.
Our words have the power to distract us, to persuade us, to enlighten us, or to rejuvenate us. Kind words are like honey-laced melodies. A massive change can be brought about through any word of love or dismay. Like, for instance the the words used by William Wordsworth, who is from classic culture, who obviously was in love with nature.
As goes the saying of encouragement:
For oft when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood
They flush upon the inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude
And then my heart's pleasure fills
And dances with the Daffoills!
If words had not been there, how could William Wordsworth have spun and woven the art of words into magic?
Also, another beautiful quote from the modern arena is there :
Happiness never comes to those whose
Do not believe in it
That is why a bird sings
Having faith in spring...........
Also, if talking about modern times, then C.R Dass wrote:
The God of humanity was
Crucified only once......
Every outrageousness is
a fresh nail on his sacred flesh.....
Castigating the words means eating up the authority of giving the right kind of narration. In the right kind of narration. Neither are they for the copywriters. Words trigger more kinds of emotional responses than persuasion. Spinning and weaving omnipotence into words means only playing with emotions. Also Copywriters use them to create compelling content that deeply influences readers. Words have the magic potion in them. They can destroy and create. Sometimes a single word can change everything. Do you remember the words that acted as magic to your ears? It could be a 'sorry', or a 'please', or perhaps the love of your life changing your trajectory of life. In modern times omniluscence gave way to linguistic skills in an integrated form. We got to know what and who the typical media are to intervene among the masses. Well, power has always remained in the hands of tycoons, for instance, the politicians. Well, what if words hadn't intervened? If words weren't there, then there would possibly be a question mark on the realism and existence of all these politicians, copywriters, screenplay writers, etc.
