MA in Sociology aims to construct a strong intellect of students towards building a progressive and sustainable society. It stresses on the development of competence through the academic foundation, research outlook along with knowledge building through classical social thought and ideology. The students are trained in different and varied sub-disciplines of sociology like gender sensitization, health, rural sociology, and peace & conflict studies.

In accordance with NEP, the programme consists of various core courses targeting thorough and deep knowledge of the subject along with discipline-specific electives which covers a wide-ranging broad spectrum of various sub-branches like media, religion & society, and legal literacy.
