  • OBJECTIVE OF THE SESSION: Awareness about HACCP and the need of food hygiene and food safety for better health.

OUTCOMES:

1. To understand the concept of HACCP principles
2. To apply HACCP in food industry

A workshop was organized by Department of Food technology for the students of B.Tech. Food Technology on the topic of "HACCP AWARENESS" in which the theme of this session was "Safe Food Saves Lives". Workshop speaker was Mr. Sumit Saxena, Head - Global Operations, Maven Quality Assurance Counsel.

Mr. Saxena talked about history of HACCP followed by various physical, chemical, biological and allergic hazards in food and food products. He elaborated about the preliminary steps of HACCP plan then discussed the principles of HACCP

The workshop concluded on the note that HACCP plan is the most effective way to increase food safety and food hygiene in all food sectors and in between the workshop Mr. Sumit Saxena conducted various activities for making the workshop more interactive.

At last, a detailed Q&A session took place where speaker Mr. Sumit Saxena directly answered all the questions of the students.
