About Electrical Engineering:  Electrical Engineering is a study of electrical energy, power generation and supply systems. It also deals with the strategies of Electricity Generation, Transmission & Distribution, Load flow analysis, Fault analysis and Protection schemes. Electrical Engineers are responsible to design solutions for complex engineering problems and system components or processes that meet the specified needs of the public health, safety, cultural, societal, economic and environmental considerations. Electrical Engineering is distinctly focused towards integrating academics with cutting edge technology in the field of engineering. Electrical Engineering provides students with the necessary knowledge of engineering mathematics, fundamentals of electrical technology, information technology and engineering physics to successfully perform their tasks as electrical engineers in their future workplace.

Learning Perspective of Electrical Engineering: During the first year of study, a sound foundation is laid in physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer fundamentals, electrical fundamentals, machine drawing, practical geometry and communication techniques. The second, third and fourth years of the programme progress into specialized areas which include electrical machines (AC/DC), electrical measurements, instrumentation, digital electronics, power electronics, engineering materials, generation of power(AC/DC), transmission & distribution, power system, control system, EMFT, high voltage & extra-high voltage engineering (AC/DC), switchgear protection, artificial intelligence, utilization of electrical power, electrical drives & their control and entrepreneurship development. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for a professional career in Electrical Engineering and to develop the capability in students to solve engineering problems as well as carry out higher studies and research in core areas.

The department has well qualified & experienced faculty. State of the art laboratories provide hands-on training to the students of Electrical Engineering. Special classes are also arranged for good understanding of Electrical Machines, Switch Gear Protections and High Voltage Engineering.

Classroom teaching is supported by video lectures and PPT.
