Department of MSW, School of Social Science conducted a Seminar to break the stereotype of the society, at BJMC Auditorium, SADTM Campus dated on March 12th 2019 under the guidance of Dr. Priyanka Mathur, Head of Department, MSW.
Mr. Jainish Vig an independent ethnographer and film director working as a youth accountability advocate with the help of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, through his film on transgender enlightened the knowledge of MSW students about origin, cause and effect of stereotypes in civil society and how one can break it.
Prof. K K Rattu, Director, School of Media and Prof. Himmat singh, Advisor School of Media, also shared their views. Mr. Abhishek Chatterjee. Musician, specialising on metal music gave musical performance in various films related to social issues and shared his experience with the students.
The Seminar was followed by a group discussion where students actively participated with their ideas and views. The session turned out to be a huge triumph, where students from various departments presented their views that how we can bring a change in the society. For future plans students with the help of team and faculty have decided to organize a street play to break the silence of stereotype in the society.
