Dr Ajit Singh Bapna


Dr. AS Bapna, Director, MBBS, MS (ENT), Jaipur National University Institute for Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Jaipur.

He has done M.B.B.S (1970) and MS ENT (1975) from SMS medical college, Jaipur and has 27 years of UG teaching experience in UG, and 25 years of PG teaching experience from the same medical college. He was retired from the post of professor and head of E.N.T. department from SMS medical college in 2013.

He is founder member of: 1) Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) in ENT for DNB, 2) Rajasthan Medicare Relief Society: A NGO in GO for GO, 3) Life Line Fluid Stores in SMS Hospital, 4) North Zone Association of Otolaryngologists of India in 1990. (Founder President), 5) Hearing Impaired Rehabilitation Assistance Foundation (HIRA Foundation) 2005(NGO), 6) Director Jain ENT Hospital Jaipur (a State of Art ENT Hospital in India) 2005, 7) Neuro-otology and Equilibriometric Society of India, and 8) Rhinology Society of India

He has Delivered lecture for Health Care Policy for WHO and The Policy Orgnisation In Washington USA (2000), and for Health Care Policy In Uttrakhand for Govt. Hospitals (2011).

He has introduced and initiated (in Rajasthan): 1) Laryngoscope with lateral slots for Laser Surgery (1976), 2) Microlaryngeal Surgery (1976), 3) Micro ear Surgery (1982), 4) Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (1990), 5) 1st Choclear Implant in Jain ENT Hospital Jaipur (2005), 6) Persued induction of ENT as independent MBBS Subject with Dr. Y.N. Mehra (Director PGI Chandigarh) and Dr. S.K. Kakkar (Director AIIMS, New Delhi 1988), 7) Central lab in SMS Hospital with LAN System (2001), 8) Free Choclear implant in Deaf Mute Children through Govt. of Rajasthan (Full Financial Support of Rs 7 Lac per operation (2011), and 9) Established lab in Anatomy Department SMS Medical College for Microsurgical and Endoscopic Hands-on cadaveric dissections.

He is Member of Selection Board: for UPSC, UP, RPSC, Delhi, J&K, AIIMS (New Delhi).

He received “Life Time Achievement Award” for his efforts and contribution in the field of ENT Practice in 2015.
