The School of Languages, Literature & Society in association with IQAC & Young Readers and Writers Club, Jaipur National University, Jaipur organized a Pan India declamation competition – The Pink City Championship of Public Speaking. It was conducted online on 27th February 2023, to hone the oratory skills, language skills and leadership quality amongst the students. Declamation is a rhetorical exercise or a set speech. The participants had to deliver a speech on their own or from a famous speaker/character. The students were in high zest and zeal and participants were from various states. Being a pan Indian event, the bar rose extremely high for the competition from different colleges and each participant could feel their pulse roaring as everyone was well prepared, spoke confidently with expressions and excellent diction of speeches by Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, Julius Caesar, Subhash Chandra Bose, Napolean , etc. Ms. Jhalak Khatri from Poornima University, Jaipur was declared the champion. Niyati Sharma from JNU Jaipur and Anmol Gupta from Government College Jaipur secured 2nd and 3rd position respectively. The Head of the department, Prof. (Dr.) Rana Zaidi, appreciated the efforts of all the participants and encouraged other students for participation in such events.
