The School of Language, Literature & Society offers the Diploma in Linguistics. The Diploma is designed primarily for those intending to apply to a master’s program in linguistics or speech-language pathology or audiology.

The Diploma in Linguistics provides a rigorous investigation into various linguistics phenomena including grammar, phonology, phonetics and semantics. The objectives of this course are:

  • To provide a quality professional development program for teachers of English and other second languages, and language professionals in translation, interpreting and other second language areas
  • To provide coursework students the opportunities to explore research options and develop specialisations for further study
