Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary fast-growing field of study and knowledge, having applications in the domains, ranging from chemical, pharmaceutical and textile industries to genetics and agriculture. It affects our everyday life and it has become even more important during the present century, as some have called the 21st century as the 'Century of Biotechnology'. 

B.Tech. Biotechnology programme is designed to meet the ever changing scenario in the field of Biotechnology. Our major emphasis is on the practical knowledge, where students are trained in the field of Microbiology, Molecular and Recombinant DNA Technology, Bioprocess Engineering and Bioinformatics. Organization of seminars, workshops, industrial and institutional visits help the students to develop research temperament, orientation skills and to practically observe Biotechnological processes at Industrial level. Six months dissertation (Project Work) in last semester provides an opportunity for the students to work in emerging fields of Biotechnology and to get placed in core Biotech Industries. Apart from academics, participation in sports and extracurricular activities provides a holistic and enriching experience to students.
