Electronic communications engineering is the utilization of science and math applied to practical problems in the field of communications. Electronics & communication engineers might be engaged in research, design, development and testing of the electronic equipment used in various communication systems. Electronics and Communication Engineering is related to design, development, and testing of electronic circuits, communication equipments like transmitter, receiver, integrated circuits (IC). It also deals with basic electronics, analog and digital transmission and reception of data, voice and video transmission, microprocessors, satellite communication, microwave engineering, antennae and wave progression. Today Electronics has changed the entire global scenario with its application in different fields such as medical science, public transport, automobile, 4G and 5G communication model and energy sources. This has improved the day to day quality of life.

Learning Perspective of Electronics & Communication Engineering : During the four years of engineering, ECE people deal with fundamental subjects such as engineering mathematics, circuit analysis, signal analysis, analog and digital electronics design; also applicable programming concept such as C, C++, Java. Apart from basic understanding of electronics, course offers specialization in respective fields, embedded system, communication system, nano-electronics, microwave engineering, image processing and satellite communication etc. During engineering, university provides hands-on practice in various modern cutting edge laboratories. Students will enhance not only in hardware skills, but also improve in software sections (Xilinx-HDL-VHDL, Verilog, Java, MATLAB, Tanner, and Various Circuit Simulation Tools etc.) through minor projects in each semester. Apart all, Electronics department has modern research and development cell for the students to implement their innovative ideas for the betterment of the society.

Areas of Specialization

The Students of E&C engineering can opt for specialization in the areas, such as Robotics, VLSI, DSP, Satellite Communication, Radar, Mobile Communication and Medical Electronics.

  • The Department has recently signed an MoU with Myongji University of Korea, South Korea for Project and Research work (Click here for details).
  • This collaboration will provide opportunities to the students to carry out their internships at Myongji University.

The department organizes frequent industrial visits in each semester to enhance the practical knowledge of the core areas and understanding of the present trends in the research and industry.

Student Projects

An Engineering project provides the students the opportunity to work in multi-disciplinary teams to pursue an engineering idea from conception to design. Projects help the students to implement the ideas, which is from concept to reality.
