Eligibility : Intermediate /10+2 with PCM/PCB/PCMB/ Agriculture from a recognized Board/ University

Four Year B. Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) professional degree program is running in Jaipur National University, Jaipur. This degree consists of 08 semesters (04 years duration). Subjects viz Agronomy, Plant Breeding & Genetics, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Environment Science, Horticulture, Animal Science, Fisheries, Biochemistry, Nematology, Microbiology, Agricultural Engineering, Agricutural Economics and Statistics as recommended by 5th Dean Committee of Indian Council of Agricultual Research (ICAR, an Apex body) are being taught in JNU. Basic courses like Physics, Chemistry, Computer, English are also being taught in addition to applied courses.
 
Agriculture Graduate has tremendous scope in Government (Public) and private sector. Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) is conducting examination every year for recruitment of Scientist in different subjects. Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) are also provided to Agriculture Graduate to continue higher education.
Institute of Banking Personal Selection (IBPS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India is conducting examination for recruitment of Agriculture Finance Officer(AFO) to be posted in different Nationalized Banks every year.

3. Undertaking extension education for training of the farmers
4. To promote linkages with national & international educational institutes
5. To strengthen the employability of students by way of imparting industry driven, need based education

Faculty of Agricultural Sciences:

School of Agricultural Sciences has highly experienced faculties with  various specializations like- Agronomy, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Nematology, Horticulture, Extension Education, Economics, Agri -business Management, Agro-forestry, Soil Survey, Land use planning and Remote sensing, Water Management, Soil and Water conservation/Agriculture Engineering and other relevant areas.

VISITS :
Students of B Sc. Agriculture visited 02 times Rajasthan Agricultural Research Institute, Durgapura, Jaipur to observe Fields, Agriculture Meteorology Instruments, Laboratories of different subjects in February, 2017.
Students also visited SKN Agriculture University, Jobner to see Farmer’s Fair on 04 March, 2017
 
GAMES:
Mr. Rahul Kumar  B.Sc. Agriculture I year student participated in All India University Football Championship organized at M. D. University, Rohtak from 7th to 11th March, 2017.

Career Prospects

Government of India has declared B.Sc. (Ag.) as the professional course.

Graduates in Agriculture can find jobs in both public and private sectors in Agriculture, marketing, trade, banking, insurances etc against various posts like :

  • Agricultural Officers,
  • Agriculture Extension Officers,
  • Agriculture field officers,
  • Assistant Plant Protection Officers,
  • Plant Quarantine Officers;
  • Seed Certification Officers;
  • Soil Survey Officers;
  • Agricultural Field Officers in Banks and other financial institutions,
  • Horticulture Officers;
  • Landscape and Gardening Officers,
  • Food Inspectors and various other such posts.
