Workshop on Innovative Cocktail

On September 2, 2024, the SHMCT department conducted an engaging and informative workshop focused on cocktails and mocktails, led by Mr. Anmol, a seasoned Business Development Manager, Monin with Mr. Purshottam extensive expertise in mixology, Monin. The session provided participants with a thorough understanding of both classic and contemporary beverage preparation techniques. Mr. Anmol began by introducing the brand Monin and the basics of classic cocktails, including renowned drinks such as Bloody Mary, Cosmopolitan, Mojito, Martini, Long Island Iced Tea, Margarita, and Rob Roy. He demonstrated not only the preparation of these timeless favorites but also explored innovative variations, enhancing participants' appreciation for the evolving field of mixology.

The workshop was characterized by its high interactivity and practical approach. Mr. Purshottam demonstrations were particularly notable for their liveliness and engagement. He invited 53 students from the audience to participate directly in the session, showcasing various mixology tricks and techniques. One of the highlights was the demonstration of flaring—a skillful and dramatic technique involving the juggling and theatrics of cocktail bottles. This aspect of the workshop allowed students to experience firsthand the excitement of mixology, as they learned to perform and practice these impressive tricks themselves.

The hands-on nature of the workshop contributed significantly to its success. Participants were not only spectators but actively involved in practicing flaring and bottle juggling under Anmol’s guidance. This interactive approach fostered a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere, with students expressing their enjoyment and eagerness to learn more. The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many participants suggesting that such workshops should be held on a regular basis to continually develop their mixology skills.

Anmol also observed the high levels of energy and interest from the students, which contributed to the workshop's vibrant and effective learning environment. He expressed a strong desire to conduct similar workshops in the future, given the positive response and the evident enthusiasm of the participants.

In conclusion, the cocktail and mocktail workshop on September 2, 2024, was a resounding success. It provided valuable insights into the art of mixology while ensuring a fun and interactive experience for all attendees. The workshop not only enhanced participants' knowledge and skills but also demonstrated the benefits of hands-on, engaging learning methods. Moving forward, the SHMCT department should consider scheduling regular workshops to continue fostering interest and expertise in mixology among students.
