The School of Fashion Design at Jaipur National University celebrated National Handloom Day on 7th August 2024 in collaboration with the Weaver Service Center, a unit of the Textile Ministry of India. This event showcased the rich heritage of Indian handloom textiles and promoted traditional weaving techniques. The highlight of the celebration was a grand fashion show, where students, in collaboration with master weavers from the center, presented exquisite handloom garments.
The intricate craftsmanship and innovative designs were met with great appreciation from the audience. This collaboration offered students a platform to both learn and showcase their talents, while also emphasizing the importance of preserving India's handloom legacy. Smt. Ruchi Yadav, Deputy Director of the Weaver Service Center, Jaipur, felicitated JNU students with a trophy for their outstanding contributions. The event was graced by Chief Guest Shree Sourabh Swami, IAS, Managing Director & Chairman of Rajasthan State Handloom Development Corporation (RSHDC).
