The Department of Computer Science & Engineering organized an internal hackathon on September 13, 2024. The event brought together 342 students from various departments to develop innovative solutions using Artificial Intelligence (AI)& Machine Learning (ML), and Data Science. Participants formed teams to address real-world problems over an intense 24-hour coding session. Industry experts from Google and Microsoft served as mentors and judges, offering valuable guidance on AI and ML algorithms, and data science applications. The projects tackled diverse issues, including healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability. A total of 57 teams participated, solving 49 software-related challenges and 8 hardware-based problems sourced from government ministries, PSUs, and NGOs. The projects were evaluated on innovation, technical proficiency and feasibility. Winning teams were awarded prizes and certificates. The hackathon fostered innovation, collaboration and practical problem-solving, providing students with an enriching learning experience.
