    6th Annual International Conference and Exhibition in collaboration with Jaipur National University


    “Nurturing Pharmaceutical Sciences : Embarking towards integration of Education, Research and Practice.”


    Society of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (SPER) organizes 6th Annual International Conference and Exhibition in collaboration with Jaipur National University.The theme for the conference is Nurturing Pharmaceutical Sciences : Embarking towards integration of Education, Research and Practice. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Ashok Lahoti,Mayor,Jaipur Nagar Nigam,Jaipur. Speaking on the occasion he stressed the role of integrated teaching and learning for better professional outcomes via pharmacy practice in hospital set up and he also emphasized on various regulations coming in forthcoming years in pharmacy arena. He also added that there is huge need of pharmacist in national and international industry for research and development. The conference saw a total participation of around 600 delegates including SPER members , student delegates, academicians and foreign delegates. The highlights of the conference include, oral/poster presentations,SPER Awards and JAPTR Most cited article award. The inaugural address was given by Dr.Dinesh Jaiswal,VP Pharmaceutical operations- Achlis Group,New York,USA. In his inaugural address he spoke about pharmacy education in India is suffering from serious backdrops and flaws. He said that there is an urgent need to initiate an academic exercise aimed at attaining revamping of curriculum, keeping in pace with current and emerging trends in the field of pharmacy. Other important delegates include, Prof. (Dr.) S.H. Ansari,President, (SPER), Dr.Praveen Tyle, Executive Vice President,Research and Development,Lexicon Pharmaceuticals,Texas, USA.

    Various important aspects about the pharmacy industry were discussed on day 1 of the conference. Today India export pharmaceutical products and devices globally ranked 3rd. We provide 19 types of vaccines to 124 countries which include 58 African countries. According to a report if we stop to provide medicine to these African countries the death rate may increase 5% to 25% there. 

    Prof.H.N.Verma, Vice Chancellor,Jaipur National University was also present on the occasion. Prof. Verma said that the university always supports such initiatives and actively promote and encourage research in all fields. Pharmacy is an important field in the healthcare industry and research is an integral part which would help in the growth and development of this sector.

    The objective of the conference is to focus on continuing professional development in pharmacy profession concerning about education,essential leadership, knowledge, skills and attributes to advance practice. The two day conference will have academicians and professionals come together under one roof and exchange ideas to do with research and innovation in the field on Pharmacy.
